Ever walk into a room and forget why you went there? Oh goodness — welcome to the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s why I write things down. Not just grocery lists — but the things God whispers to my heart. Because what He gives us today — we may need tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And at this season of life \u2013 it\u2019s a MUST-DO \u2013 otherwise, it\u2019s gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our pastor, just recently, with our bulletins, has been giving out a page of blanks that we fill in while he is ministering. It has been a beautiful way of writing down so we\u2019ll remember. Thank you, Pastor Jonathan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And, if you\u2019re a little savvy with your i-phone, use the app, UpWord, and type those words in. I use it almost daily for keeping up with a word, a sentence, an idea \u2013 that might be my next blog!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s something powerful about putting words on paper (or our phone). It slows us down just enough to really hear what we\u2019re learning. Whether it\u2019s a sermon, a quiet moment with the Lord, or even a grocery list — writing it down helps it settle into our hearts and minds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scripture tells us repeatedly — to remember — and to forget not. \u201cBless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.\u201d (Psalm 103:3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That tells me something — we are prone to forgetting. But God, in His kindness, gives us simple tools to help us hold on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes what we write today — is exactly what we\u2019ll need tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And don\u2019t you love this thought? The Holy Spirit reminds us of truth (John 14:26), and those little notes we scribble can become the very place He points us back to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve gone back through old journals and laughed \u2013 cringed — and thanked God all over again. What felt overwhelming then — now shows me just how faithful He has been.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, here\u2019s a gentle nudge — grab a notebook or your phone. Nothing fancy. Just start.
Write the verse.
Write the thought.
Write the prayer.
Oh, the treasure we\u2019ll have when we do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
