{"id":24237,"date":"2026-04-28T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/?p=24237"},"modified":"2026-04-28T16:45:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T21:45:33","slug":"a-glimpse-of-glory-at-westminster-abbey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/?p=24237","title":{"rendered":"A Glimpse of Glory at Westminster Abbey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today felt like stepping into a sacred pause\u2026 a moment where time slowed and heaven felt just a little closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We made the short walk from our hotel to Westminster Abbey, and from the moment we entered, there was a hush\u2014holy, reverent, almost as if the walls themselves were whispering stories of faith, legacy, and lives well lived.<br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Carl-Renna.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24239\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7500050167559649;width:329px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Carl-Renna.jpg 720w, https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Carl-Renna-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With our headsets guiding us, we listened and learned\u2014but what made it come alive was one dear woman, an Honorary Steward, dressed in her distinctive uniform. She was warm, passionate, and so knowledgeable. You could see it in her eyes\u2014this wasn\u2019t just history to her\u2026 it was a calling. We even took photos with her, a sweet reminder that sometimes the greatest treasures in these grand places are the people who bring them to life.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"867\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Abbey-Lady-e1777412393560.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24240\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7497251608484871;width:317px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The towering arches, the stained glass catching the light, the intricate craftsmanship\u2014all of it lifting our eyes upward. Founded in 960 AD, this sacred place has witnessed over a thousand years of worship, 40 royal coronations, and the honoring of more than 3,300 souls\u2014kings, queens, poets, and leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Names we\u2019ve long known &#8211; Elizabeth I, Isaac Newton, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, George Frederic Handel, Winston Churchill &#8212; rest here. Yet the greatest presence wasn\u2019t found in the names &#8212; it was found in the overwhelming sense of God\u2019s majesty.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Wesminister-Charles-Dickens.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24241\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7500113558937088;width:300px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Wesminister-Charles-Dickens.jpg 720w, https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Wesminister-Charles-Dickens-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was reminded of Psalm 27:4:<br>\u201cOne thing I ask from the Lord\u2026 that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I felt that today.<br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"867\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Abbey-6-e1777412563365.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24242\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7497251608484871;width:338px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought back to standing in St. Peter\u2019s Basilica years ago\u2026 and now here again, seeing how human hands can create beauty that points heavenward. And still, this is only a glimpse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo eye has seen, no ear has heard\u2026 what God has prepared for those who love Him.\u201d (1 Corinthians 2:9)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If this is what we can build for Him\u2026 what must heaven be like?<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"548\" height=\"670\" src=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Abbey-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24243\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.8179062011707363;width:420px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Abbey-3.jpg 548w, https:\/\/mypeacezone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Westminister-Abbey-3-245x300.jpg 245w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>We walked out grateful\u2014for the lives remembered, for the faith that endures, and even for that kind steward who reminded us that history is best shared heart to heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And with quiet joy, I thought &#8212; we\u2019re walking with the saints.<br>Before us. Beside us. And one day\u2014face to face.
