A Love Letter Unlike Any Other
I have a box of love letters that my husband and I sent to each other pre-marriage. While pulling all my stuff together for my move, I ran across that box and took the time to reminisce that sweet love. But, the greatest love I know is not found in those letters. It is found in THE LETTER that God wrote to us.
If you’ve ever read the Bible, you would know that’s exactly what it is! A Love Letter. Many read it as a storybook or a history lesson, having no idea of the power behind it. But those who immerse themselves in it, who press in deeper and deeper, know its power. They know that it is a book filled with passionate love letters that have been written especially for them.
God openly expresses His love to us in the words of the Bible. My 2nd oldest grandson is head over heels in love with his girlfriend. He yearns to connect with her daily and remember everything about her. He wants to understand how she thinks, yearning to hear her voice again and again. And, when we hunger for God and His love for us, we learn to appreciate His love that is expressed in His Word — the Bible. If we don’t love the person who sends us the Love Letter, it is meaningless and holds no life for us. OH, but when we love the author of that Love Letter, those words propel us.
Here are some excerpts from God’s Love Letter to us:
