Good Times Never End

Good Times Never End

My inspiring, exotic adventures in Cabo in nearing the end! Basking in the beauty of God’s creation never ceases to amaze me. I’m always grateful to be a part of these experiences where we eat well, enjoy special entertainment places exclusive to this area, laugh at the hilarious antics of my grandchildren, the many ocean activities and being able to just “be”.

While my family are sun-lovers and spend much time taking on the “rays”, me and my white-lily skin settle into a lounge under a huge umbrella reading or simply embracing the look and sounds of the waves. Or, I might venture out to search for sea shells (my bounty is pictured here), or stay back at the house, and find myself right here at my computer – savoring the inspirations God seems to load me up with daily.

My favorite me-times are the very early morning times as the sun rises over the Pacific Ocean, taking lots of photos. I embrace the high tide right now and the sounds of the waves bursting against the ginormous rock formations. My heart and soul are soothed.

The natural rock formations always make me think of the “Solid-Rock” foundation we have in Christ. Then there’s the tropical floral, palm trees, and cacti that display God’s artistry and color palette.

Always a treat for us each time we’re here is taking the 45-minute drive to Flora Farms which is an amazing 25-acre organic working farm in San Jose del Cabo. The Flora’s Field Kitchen, the band, the shops, the food prepared from their own animals and gardens is a delight. The outdoor experience for the dining and atmosphere is outstanding.

My sweetheart never had the opportunity to be on these Cabo ocean or field trips. He went where no colors or splendor here could ever compare to THERE! But, oh, how he would have loved these experiences. I’m grateful that I don’t live in “if only’s”. This is MY season. This is my chance to dance and embrace still living on this side of heaven.

I’ll soon be back in my Austin sweet spot and won’t skip a beat on riding on the fast track. There aren’t exotic plants, crashing waves or sunrises where I live. In fact, my morning sunrises in Austin are blocked by the Texas Children’s Hospital being built.

It’s okay! No matter where I am, I choose the “joy of the Lord as my strength”, the peace of God that passes all understanding, the grace of God that is sufficient for me, and the hope of God that assures me that this life is just temporary and my loved ones in heaven are in my future.

I will dole out cheer, turn inward thoughts to outward joy, turn garments of heaviness into garments of praise and thanksgiving! I choose God’s life of joy instead of self-pity.

Psalm 92:12 says: “The righteous will flourish like palm trees; they will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the Lord’s temple, they will flourish in the courtyard of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age; they will be luxuriant and green.”

This “old” gal likes thinking and living in that “bearing fruit in old age” part! Thank God there are no age limits to His promises. His Word says “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me ALL the days of my life…” That is my “Maturity Plan” and it’s based on His promises and bearing good fruit for Him AND me!

I look forward to many new adventures with God AND my family! I look forward to standing beside the younger generation on the front lines of battle and cheering them on while trusting God for renewing my strength daily. The best way to stay young on the inside is staying on the front lines of loving God, loving others, and serving this generation with vigor and vitality.

Won’t you join me for daily great adventures? One day we’ll take the fast track right into heaven and all the while we’ll be shouting “Whoo hoo! What a ride I’ve had!!”
