Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air

February 3, 2023 Off By Donna Wuerch Noble

Because of our electricity going out at my apartment community from the ice storm, my children encouraged me to come to their home to stay. I didn’t hesitate. It was especially wonderful to be there for a yummy roast dinner AND enjoy the company of Shawntel’s dad and wife.

Honestly, since they married seven years ago, I haven’t had the time to get acquainted well with Gailen’s precious new wife, Mary. It was wonderful, as she and I worked diligently in putting a puzzle together and having sweet conversations. I commented how happy I am for them finding each other. Love was in the air when the two of them met after him being a widower for over 16 years and her, 8 years.

My heart be still as I croon over Tom Jones singing:

“Love is in the air. Love is everywhere I look around!
Love is in the air every sight and every sound.
Love is in the air, in the whisper of the trees.
Love is in the air in the thunder of the sea.
Love is in the air in the rising of the sun.
Love is in the air when the day is nearly done.
You are something that I must believe in,
and you are there when I reach out for you. Love is in the air…….”

I know those words were written for a lover, but, right away, I heard them as the Lover of ALL LOVERS, the LOVER of my soul. IT ALL speaks His beautiful, wonderful, indescribable name – the precious name of Jesus – truly the Lover of all Lovers. And to know that love is to share His love.

Of course, this month is dedicated to lovers and romantic relationships. But why don’t we let February be LOVE IS IN THE AIR for all those around us?

In our daily routines, we forget to let those close to us know how much we love and appreciate them. There is nothing more important than letting people know how much they mean to us.

Why not let this be a LOVE month with everyone we encounter? Love is as simple as smiling at someone walking toward us; someone in front or behind us in the checkout line or someone standing next to us in an elevator. Sounds innocent enough, but what we really can be doing is secretly telling them “I love you” with our smile.

And, if they smile back at us, let’s imagine them saying “I love you” back to us. That silent exchange may cause feelings to emerge that could transform their day AND our day.

So, since February is the month for love, how about we make a commitment to “give our love away” – maybe in a love letter to those people in our life who inspire us, support us, assist us, feed us, nurture us, care for us, love us, pray for us, protect us, laugh with us and cry with us.

They have shared the magnificent journey of our life with us. May we purpose to pour on the love this month….and let me start by saying “I LOVE YOU…..my “blog” friends and family. You mean the world to me! You make my world a better place. You put a smile on my face, and you give me so many joys! May you know God’s love in tangible and beautiful ways….not just this month, but ALWAYS!”
