March ON

March ON

March 1, 2022 Off By Donna Wuerch Noble

January – Check, February – Check, and already to March. We may look at our 2022 resolutions, dream boards and goals list and wonder “Have I accomplished anything on my lists in this new year?”

The truth is life happens. And, with it, our grandiose plans may go awry. But, no worries, we can still realize that “I will” can walk all over the “I can’t”. It’s a new month and it’s time to confront each new day and each new challenge and decide whether to give up, give in, or give it all we’ve got!” It’s time to MARCH ON!

Yes. Life happens, but each new day is just THAT! It’s new and fresh. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” Isn’t that encouraging? When we are IN Christ, we can let go of the yesterdays of failures and regrets and let those “old things” and ways and disappointments pass away.

You know how we say so-and-so passed away, meaning they died. I like to think that when today passes away to tomorrow, old things passed away and died, too. We get not just a do-over the next day, we get a brand, spanking new day to conquer our fears, correct our faults, get over our failures and MARCH ON into our destiny and purpose. No looking in the rear view mirror.

I hope I don’t annoy you with what seems to be oversimplifying all that is on your plate – your struggles, your to-do lists, or the giants that are looming over you. I ask you to trust me enough with this next sentence, pause to think through the words, and perhaps even pray: “What if God’s plan isn’t to “fix” the things that have kept me back from MARCHING ON. What if He desires most to show His power through them, making my faith stronger than ever?”

God has such good words for us, my dear friends! “The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it,” (1 Thessalonians 5:24). He will move in us to accomplish the work He has planned for us. God sees our potential even when we can’t and considers us worthwhile just the way we are.

The photo here came from our visit to Ft. Benning, GA where my grandson’s Army platoon marched before us in their graduation ceremonies. Notice they were FORWARD marching NOT backward marching. Whether soldiers are at their home base moving from one post to another, or are on the battlefield, they are on assignment. They will not cease until their mission has been accomplished. St. Paul said in Philippians 3:13,14: “…..but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining FORWARD to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” MARCH ON.

For over 44 years, my assignment included a partnership with a beautiful man. Though Heaven called his name and his earth assignments ended, Heaven hasn’t called my name. I’m still here! And, because I’m still here, there’s work for me to do and assignments I must complete. I embrace the life God has given me and I purpose to make the most of every day. That’s God’s gift to me, and my gift back to Him is my attitude of “winning, conquering, celebrating, overcoming AND marching on”. So, I MARCH ON!

What are the assignments that God has given you? What are you going to accomplish with YOU? Life is worth LIVING. We’re still here and we’re “on assignment”. Let’s get our MARCH-ing orders. Our MISSION is possible! So, we MARCH ON!
