MAY it Be

MAY it Be

May 5, 2023 Off By Donna Wuerch Noble

We celebrated May 1st as the start of a very full month of activities. What a blessing it was to kick it off with attending our Texas Governor’s Prayer Breakfast.

May 2nd, Brennan’s exciting baseball season ended. We were happy they won their district playoffs.  Next baseball season will be at University of Mary Hardin Baylor.

Yesterday, the 4th, (MAY the 4th be with you!) is what my Star Wars-loving Payton and Alexia speak about, But, most importantly, it was the National Day of Prayer.  Thank you God, for the freedom we have to join millions in prayer across the country.

Father, Thank You for the freedom to worship You in this country. Let us not take it for granted. Help us share Your salvation with others in love and kindness.

We also praise You for the examples of Your Holy Spirit moving in America. Thank You for the renewal and revival taking place in many university campuses.

We are reminded of Romans 12:11 which states, “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” We pray that You continue to pour out Your Spirit upon campuses and communities.

Please forgive us.  Help us forgive one another and follow You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Also, last night, May 4th, we gringos celebrated today’s Cinco de Mayo by indulging in yummy Mexican food at my community’s Thursday get-together.   It is a wonderful commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage while celebrating the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France during the Franco-Mexican War.

Next on the agenda, Sunday, May 14th, is Mother’s Day.  I am grateful to be a mom and Nana. Thank you to my mother and mother-in-law for paving the way for me, by leading me in their examples of God’s unconditional love to my family.

To all mothers who mother those who need Godly examples. I am already celebrating and honoring all the beautiful and selfless women that “mother” those around them with God’s love, kindness, and wisdom.

Then to add to this busy month of activities, the Wuerch’s are in the throes of many of Brennan’s upcoming graduation activities.  He will give his senior thesis on May 16th. His baccalaureate is May 25th, graduation is May 26th, and his grad party will be on May 27th!  I am thankful for making the move to Austin in 2021 so that I can be on-site for all this month holds!

And, May 25th is also the birthday of my third grandson (in order of birth-dates), Payton Wallace! Happy Birthday, precious, smart, handsome and successful Payton Cole Wallace! I love you so much!

I love that the month of May brings special recognition to our Lord’s Mother, Mary. We express gratitude for her “yes”, her sacrifice, the fruit of her womb, Jesus, as well as her continual intercessions for us. “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” (Luke 1:42)

Thank you for indulging me in my “May” prayers, tributes, and celebrations. Thanks to our Maker Who makes every day a May Day. He said to Moses to tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing (And it is to you and me, too!) in Numbers 6:24-26:
“MAY the Lord bless you and protect you.
MAY the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
MAY the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.”

A happy and blessed month of MAY to you and yours!
