With All My Heart

With All My Heart

In these photos you will see all employees and workers throughout Vidanta in Puerto Vallarta — maids, waiters, concierges, ride arrangers, etc. — place their hand on their heart as we approach them.

Right from our first day here, we noticed this gesture. It impressed me so much that I am blogging about it today. As they place their hand on their heart, they are expressing “With all my heart, I care about you and want to serve you and help you.” What a beautiful sincere expression. And that is exactly how we feel about them. They go the distance in ensuring our satisfaction.

Of course, I have been inspired to write about this since the first time we were given that gesture here. Of course, that is what I desire to emulate to those I encounter. Sincerely, from my heart, I want others to know I love them and care for them. But where do I start?

Psalm 103:1-4 says: “WITH ALL MY HEART, I praise the Lord with ALL that I am. I praise His holy name. WITH ALL MY HEART, I praise the Lord! I will never forget how kind He has been.”

Jeremiah 29:13 says: “You will see Me and find Me when you search for Me WITH ALL YOUR HEART.”

When Jesus was asked about the most important commandment, He made it very simple for us when He said, “You must love the Lord your God WITH ALL YOUR HEART, all your soul and all your strength.”

The second commandment was equally important: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31) Jesus made it simple by this explanation, but those two commandments seem to be the hardest ones to live by.

Loving God with all our hearts and our neighbors as ourselves is placing ourselves in the position of servitude. Yes, these workers are required to show that “with all my heart” sincerity but the smile on their face, the nod of their head and their zeal to serve puts the gesture to action.

For us, who love God WITH ALL OUR HEARTS and our neighbors as ourselves desire to serve and love as God asked us to love. God is love. He is the origin of the existence of the feeling and its experience. Because I love and admire Him so much then I want to be like Him.

I want to act when He gives me clear instructions and to make my best effort to obey. My decision to obey Him is evidence of how much I love Him. I love Him with the entirety of a heart that joyfully receives His love and direction.

It is my prayer that we will love Him the way He loves us and with actions like these servers – aiming to please, desiring to serve and be a representative of Him, making Him a proud Papa like these workers who serve with their employer’s best interest at heart.

WITH ALL MY HEART, I love you, my faithful and devoted followers. Serving you, loving you, and desiring your journey is ever so sweet, is my greatest desire.
