WITH GOD — Nothing is impossible

WITH GOD — Nothing is impossible

We can count on it! I apologize right up front for this being an almost redundant blog each year on this day. But, each year, I think about what the Lord did, and I can’t help but celebrate. This story is made possible…..only, WITH GOD.

Today is the 26th anniversary of my children – Larry and Staci Wallace! It was indeed a divine set-up by God. Because I love “love stories”, the Hallmark kind-of-stories that always have a happy ending — but better yet are the TRUE love stories that seem to get better year after year.

I am grateful for the choices Larry and Staci made, their devotion and commitments to God and each other. Today, my blog is dedicated to honor them and the upfront part of their love story.

You should hear their story straight from their hearts, but my attention-to-the-details is what inspires this blog today. Their story sounds like a fairy-tale. How could it be in these times? How could they achieve what seems impossible? Chastity before marriage.

Theirs is not the typical: “Let’s live together and let’s see if we’re meant for each other!” Right up front in their relationship, they made a vow of celibacy until they married. They even refrained from kissing until their wedding day because of a covenant Larry made with God.

How is that possible? Here is the title of today’s blog and the proof positive it can be done: “WITH GOD – all things are possible!” (Matthew 19:26)

Staci wrote and recorded a song called “Jesus is the Reason” that was played at the wedding. The song explained the significance of how their friendship grew to love and that love was wrapped in purity and unity. Needless to say, when the moment came at the wedding: “Now you may kiss your Bride”, the congregation cheered with excitement — not to mention the two of them, with no holds barred….locked in for the smoochiest KISS ever!

After their wedding, and for many years following, they were asked to share their purity love story at youth conferences, churches, and organizations across the country. Thankfully, their wedding, and the marriage they have today, has continued to touch young and old, with the sanctity and beauty of a marriage founded and based on God’s love being the #1 priority in their lives. It is the greatest gift they could have given to each other and their children.

Pictured here is the ring that Larry had made for Staci. It was based on Staci’s words to him at the outset of their relationship. She explained the triangle: “At the bottom left corner is Larry; at the bottom right corner is Staci. The closer we move toward God individually, the closer we move toward each other.”

The ring has a trilliant cut diamond which signifies their on-going commitment to continue to pursue Christ and the horizontal-cut ruby above it signifies the blood of the Lamb in Revelations 12:11: “They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.” It is inscribed inside the ring.

I heard a minister say: “I tell you where you step up your game in your marriage is to recall the day when you said and made your vows before our Holy God and to each other. Your marriage will always be blessed as you recall the promises you made to each other before God. Live your life every day before God. That will guarantee your marriage succeeds.”

I know Larry and Staci’s marriage was made in heaven. I love watching them on their Tuesday FB Live podcast and how they share their lives out loud. I’ll post the link to their podcast later today so you can see them live and in-action. It should be a good one today on their anniversary! Stay tuned.

This blog today reinforces that “With God, ALL things really are possible!” It is also proof-positive that those whose “center” is Christ – are lives that stay centered on each other.

Happy Anniversary, my Darlings! Carry on, good and faithful servants!
