❤️❤️ Happy Valentine’s Young Lovers Wherever You Are ❤️❤️

February 14, 2022 Off By Donna Wuerch

And, for those of us who are a “solo” act today because our spouses are celebrating in heaven or the boy or girlfriend left the building….just in time to NOT be showering us with flowers OR kisses (the chocolate AND real ones) on this day when others are having a lovefest……

Let’s just bury our heads under our bedcovers, refuse to even face this “lovers” day and call Valentine’s “Bah Humbug Day!”

NO! A million times, NO!

On Saturday, I had a charming invitation: “Do you have plans for lunch on Monday? I sure would love to take you out for a Valentine’s Day lunch!” I quickly replied: “Even if I had plans, this invitation supersedes them all! That’s so sweet of you!” My “beau” replied: “That makes me happy. I’ll pick you up at noon!”
Be still my heart!

The invitation was from my son, and I’ll be enjoying every minute of “our date”!

But, when it comes to a sweetheart, though my son is a worthy stand-in — he’s not his daddy. I miss him so much because Valentine’s Day was an “anniversary date” for us since we had our first “chaperoned” date on Valentine’s Day. STILL — I won’t be shutting this day out. I will rise and shine and make this day count! I celebrate this day of love with those so blessed to have their sweethearts with them on this side of heaven. Rather than resenting this day, we get to emulate our Lord’s sacrificial love for us.

We love as an offering to Him Who loved us all the way to the cross. What an example of true love! In turn, we get to love each other in ways that reveal our gratitude for His love. Let’s not allow the real meaning of this day to get lost on “I wish I had a sweetheart” or searching for the card and gift like another task on a “to do list”. Valentine’s Day is about celebrating the love we have for others. 1 John 4:8 tells us that “God is love.” Jesus said the most important commandment is to love God and love others (as we love ourselves). That’s a lot of love to give out today!

Everyone wants to be loved and no one wants to be lonely. Valentine’s Day is a perfect day to allow God to use us as witnesses to His perfect love. We love God with everything in us. We love others like God loves them. Let’s share God’s love with them.

Consider this my Valentine’s wish for each of you today! It is based on 1 John 4:7-12 and I imagine this to be an expression of love from God, to each of us, His beloved.

To my beloved…
Love one another with the love I create in you.
You know me, and you know you are adored.
So love others because you are secure in my love for you.
I proved my great love, by giving you my Son.
I always planned for you to be with me, eternally.
When I gave you Jesus, I gave you my deepest expression of love.
Beloved, my love is yours, and it is yours to give away.
People all around you need to be loved, and need to love each other.
Always remember, my love is completely yours,
And you are gifted to love others; completely.
I will love you always,
God

So, bed-warmers and bah-humbuggers – let’s rise and shine! Let’s realize the greatest LOVER of all loves us. May His love compel us to love ourselves and others like never before!
❤️❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day!!! ❤️❤️
