What Matters Most is Walking in Love
Aw! February — the month where love is on full display, from heart-shaped chocolates to mushy greeting cards. But today, love takes center stage for a far greater reason — my daughter, Staci Wallace, and my bonus son, Larry Wallace, are celebrating 28 years of marriage!
Happy Anniversary, my loves! You are living, breathing examples of what happens when God is the first love of your marriage. How well you have displayed that love out loud and many other couples have taken your cue to love each other, and others, like Jesus loves! Carry on, good and faithful servants, as you continue to bring life and light to so many!!
Now, to you and me! With all the warm fuzzies swirling around this “Love Month,” I can’t help but wonder — are we just talking about love, or are we walking it out? God IS LOVE and the most important lesson He wants us to learn on earth is how to love.

We say, “I love you” in the same sentence that we say, “I love chocolate cake”! We say, “I love my neighbor” in the same thought as “I wish my neighbor would keep his kids off my lawn”.
Rick Warren says: “Learning to love unselfishly is certainly not an easy task. It runs counter to our self-centered nature. That’s why we’re given a lifetime to learn it.”
God wants us to love everyone, but He particularly wants us to learn to love others in His family. That’s why it’s so awesome to be in the Family of God. Not because we are a “click” or “club unto ourselves”. It’s because we resemble Jesus Christ. We act like Him. We talk like Him. We walk like Him. We forgive like Him. We LOVE like Him. That’s why our character, being in His likeness, should speak volumes over those who don’t know or show this kind of love.
Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35)
Love isn’t learned in isolation. Oh no! God plants us right in the middle of cranky coworkers, difficult neighbors, and even those who have opposing political views — all to teach us what real love looks like. The world doesn’t need more opinions; it needs a front-row seat to the kind of love that changes lives.
So let’s be love show-offs today. Let’s make loving others our top priority, because at the end of the day, walking in love is what truly matters most.
Now go spread some love — bonus points if there’s chocolate cake involved!
