A Night of Love and Great Expectations
Oh, what a night! Tonight, my precious granddaughter Alexia and her handsome, godly fiancé Winston will tie the knot — and tie it tight!
Our hearts are bursting with joy as these two beautiful souls become one. But before the wedding bells ring, I have to tell you about last night — a night brimming with love, laughter, and memories to last a lifetime.
The rehearsal was filled with joyful nerves and happy tears. Carl and I were honored to lead the parade — our official “walk down the aisle” practice! Then came the rehearsal dinner, hosted by Winston’s parents, Richard and Mindy Rose — what a gracious, faith-filled family.
Winston is their youngest, their miracle boy. After two daughters and the heartbreak of losing a child before birth — BUT GOD! — He sent Winston, a precious gift whose heart beats for the Lord, his family, and now his bride, Alexia.
The Roses rolled out a feast fit for royalty — Tennessee barbecue that would make any pitmaster proud. Over sixty guests from all across the U.S., Canada, and even London gathered to celebrate.
Stories, laughter, and love flowed freely — every word a reflection of gratitude for what God has done in bringing these two together.
Of course, I had my turn at the mic (a Nana never passes that up!). I spoke about my one granddaughter among five grandsons, our pink and precious “girl power” bedroom, and the way Alexia grew into a confident, articulate young woman who loves Jesus deeply.
I could barely hold back tears as I watched her and Winston lock eyes — their love is steady, strong, and God-ordained.
Today, they begin their forever — a love story written by the Author of all love. I’ve prayed for this day since Alexia was small, and God has exceeded every expectation.
So tonight, yes, I’ll shed a few tears — joyful, grateful ones. Because when God writes the story, it’s always a masterpiece. From this day forward, may their marriage reflect His faithfulness, His joy, and His amazing grace.
Today, we celebrate a forever love — one written by the Author of all love. ❤️
