A Brand New Life

A Brand New Life

March 25, 2024 Off By Donna Wuerch Noble

Last June, my son’s family’s precious 14-year-old Havanese, Bentley, went to doggy heaven. We closed that chapter of caring for him and making him feel comfortable, but the love for him will never leave us.

We’ll forever cherish the precious memories of Bentley growing up with my four Wuerch grandsons. It really is like losing a part of the family. Bentley was that part that we will forever cherish.

But this is a brand-new day. And a brand-new sweet life has joined our family. Meet Briggs, the Wuerch’s new Havanese. Notice the “B” word. The Wuerch boys are Braden, Barrett, Brennan, and Bryson. Bentley was the 5th B. Now Briggs is our 6th B.

Briggs came home with Ryan and Shawntel last Thursday. This is Briggs – a feisty, playful puppy that has brought new sunshine to the Wuerch’s. He grabs his toys and chews on them and even runs with them. What a precious addition he is to the family.

Good Lord, I am already in love with this little guy. A new presence in our family. In fact, the family had pictures taken on Saturday with him in them. I’ve found that life – with our pets or our loved ones – is about loving, caring, giving, and receiving.

What I love most about Briggs is that he brought new life to my family. He has a trainer already that is personally providing wisdom and techniques for raising him — what to eat, the toys he should play with, the kennel he should stay in and the love that the family should give him.

I’ve been posting a great deal about the coming of Spring and the freshness and beauty of the “brand new life” we see all around us. But of all the beauty that is seen in all the evidence of Spring, still nothing compares to someone that comes to a brand-new life in Christ.

Aw! The brand new life of the living Christ Who lives big in us. We especially focus on Him this week as we walk with Christ to His torture, His death, AND His resurrection. And, in 2 Corinthians 5:17 we celebrate: “Therefore, if anyone. is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

A brand-new life in Christ brings love, joy, peace, and a renewed sense of purpose for living. Isn’t that REALLY what this season is all about? Next Sunday we’ll celebrate Easter — Resurrection Sunday. He Who was crucified, was placed in a tomb, but came up out of that grave – is THE ONE Who brings us SPRINGTIME and gives us a “Brand New Life”.

I started this blog with our family’s story of a brand new life. I conclude this blog with encouraging you to allow God to bring new life into you. Celebrate the victory of Christ and the new life He offers to you today!
