A New Day for America
Yesterday’s headlines were: Donald J. Trump Wins Presidency — to Become the 47th President of the United States.”
May we pray for President Trump and other elected officials to seek God’s wisdom and to lead with biblical priorities and servants’ hearts. May we pray for God to use our leaders to unify our nation and to protect them from evil and to empower them for good (1 Timothy 2:1–2).
We are stepping into a new season — one that we can’t help but marvel at the sovereignty of our God, who rules over heaven and earth. It is truly not just about who sits in the White House or the color of the political map. We are reminded that our true leader is God Himself, whose authority is unmatched and whose wisdom knows no bounds.
This election, in all its intensity, has drawn many to reflection, and we find ourselves humbled by God’s unmerited favor. I pray that the bickering, the backstabbing, the name calling, and ugly memes and jokes and tacky remarks are left to the past. It’s a new day to rise and shine and be the children of Almighty God who make Him proud by loving as He called us to love.
This is not a time for division or boasting. Rather, it’s an invitation to bring healing to a nation that has seen its share of division and hurt. May God unite our hearts, not in the name of any one leader or party, but in gratitude for His grace and guidance.
As we move forward, let us commit to praying for our leaders — all of them. Scripture calls us to lift up those in authority, that they may act with justice, compassion, and wisdom. We pray for policies that uphold what is true and just and for decisions that reflect God’s love for all His children.
This is the time to stand together as Americans, but even more importantly, as children of God who play fair, who act rightly, and who love one another.
Let us seek to listen, to understand, and to honor each other as we press on into the future. Our unity and peace don’t come from a victory or a loss but from the One who holds it all together.
Today is a new day, and by God’s grace, may it be the beginning of a fresh season of unity and hope. Let us rise and shine with love and grace and show the world how God’s good kids act!
