A Walk Through the Word

Please forgive me for sharing more about the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. I can’t stop thinking about all we experienced and want to encourage you to make it part of your travel plans in the future.

If you’re looking for an experience that will not only deepen your faith but also ignite your passion for the Word of God, let me introduce you to a place that’s more than a museum—it’s a journey through the ages, a walk through the very pages of the Bible itself.

Welcome to the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Imagine a place where history meets technology, where ancient truths are illuminated with the light of modern innovation.

As soon as you step through the doors, you’re greeted by the sheer magnitude of God’s Word displayed in ways you’ve never seen before. From the very first chapter to the final verse, this museum takes you on a journey that will stir your soul and awaken your spirit.

One of the most captivating experiences is the virtual reality ride that literally takes you above and beyond. You stand, secured in place, as the ride lifts you over the nation’s capital.

Below you, monuments, federal buildings, and memorials come to life, each one adorned with Bible verses that have been etched into the stone and steel of our nation’s history. It’s a reminder that, even in today’s world, God’s Word remains a powerful, unshakable foundation.

But the experience doesn’t end there. Put on a virtual reality headset and find yourself transported to the ancient streets of Jerusalem. It’s almost as if you can reach out and touch the stones where Jesus once walked, feel the atmosphere of the Temple, and witness the passion of His final days. This isn’t just a tour—it’s an encounter with the living, breathing history of our faith.

The Museum of the Bible doesn’t just educate—it inspires. It’s a place where every turn of a corner reveals another treasure of biblical truth, where you can witness the miraculous preservation of God’s Word through the centuries. From the intricate details of the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Gutenberg Bible, you’ll see how the Scriptures have been faithfully passed down through generations.

BTW — we saw the Gutenburg printing press replica in action and the page that was printed. I was given that page. I’ll be framing it.

Thanks to Johannes Gutenberg, today’s high-speed commercial printing presses can produce up to 15,000 sheets an hour! His invention of metal movable type in 1450 has accurately been called “an invention that changed the world.” And the first major book he printed was the Bible!

For anyone who loves the Bible, this is a pilgrimage worth making. It’s more than just a museum; it’s a place where your faith is strengthened, your knowledge is deepened, and your heart is drawn closer to the God who authored it all.

So, whether you’re a lifelong believer or someone searching for truth, go and see for yourself. Let the Museum of the Bible take you on a journey that will not only educate your mind but also transform your heart. Your walk with Jesus will never be the same.
