Angels Watching Over Us
“All night, all day,
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
All night, all day,
Angels watching over me.”
This old gospel song came rushing to my mind last week when I witnessed firsthand that Carl’s angels are working overtime!
We had just arrived in Cabo del Sol, welcomed with a grand tour of my Wuerch family’s beautiful new home — our sweet haven for the next seven days.
Perched majestically above the Sea of Cortez, the home was a sight to behold. A kind and knowledgeable guide led us through each room, explaining the high-tech marvels that controlled everything from the curtains to the lights.
Then we made our way to the top deck — an absolute paradise. The pool and hot tub sat elevated, accessible by eight solid concrete steps. From up there, we had a front-row seat to the ocean’s grandeur, even catching glimpses of whales enjoying their own little vacation.

Everything was serene. Peaceful. Perfect. Until it wasn’t.
One moment, we were soaking in the view. The next, our guide and I stood frozen in sheer horror as Carl — completely unaware — took a step backward. Right off the edge.
But here’s where the story takes a turn only God could write.
Instead of crashing onto the concrete below, my husband, in what I can only describe as divine choreography, moonwalked backward down all five steps. No stumble. No crash. Not even a bruised ego! Just a smooth, gravity-defying glide to safety.

I know what I saw. And what I saw was angels on duty!
Psalm 91:11 reminds us, “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
I don’t need any more proof. Angels exist. And last week, they were working a double shift for Carl. Take it from me — when God says He’s watching over us, He means it.
And in case you’re wondering — no, Carl will not be taking up professional moonwalking. But thanks to the Lord and His angels, he’s still standing to tell the tale!
Father, thank You for Your mighty protection. Thank You that whenever we are in danger, we are not alone. Thank You for sending Your angels to help us when we need it most. We trust in You Lord. Thank You for being with us, for guiding us. You are faithful. Help us Lord, to lean on You. Help us to trust in You more, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
