Brand New – A Fresh Start for 2025

Brand New – A Fresh Start for 2025

January 3, 2025 0 By Donna Wuerch Noble

I can’t shake the sense that the word “NEW” is ringing loud and clear from Headquarters. “Old things have passed away – behold, all things have become NEW!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Let the past be the past. Let the new BE new.

There’s something special about the start of a new year – the feel of a fresh journal, a clean calendar, and a renewed determination bubbling up inside us. It’s like holding a blank canvas, ready for God’s brushstrokes to paint something beautiful.

For many, 2024 was… well, a doozy. If that’s you, then I imagine you flung the door shut on last year and welcomed 2025 with open arms. And here’s the good news – God designed us for do-overs! His specialty is making all things new.

Let’s anchor ourselves in His promises:

✨ GOD MAKES US NEW.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

✨ GOD GIVES US NEW SONGS OF PRAISE.
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.” – Psalm 40:3

✨ GOD MAKES NEW WAYS FOR US.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:19

✨ GOD’S MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23

🌟We’ve been given a brand-new year, full of possibilities.
🌟New potential to pursue what God has placed on our hearts.
🌟A clean slate to prove to ourselves and others that we are finishers – not quitters.
🌟Fresh willpower to overcome obstacles.
🌟A renewed desire to trust God, whether the sun is shining or the rain is pouring.
🌟New goals to break old habits.

It’s time to step forward with fresh expectations and eyes wide open to the blessings and adventures ahead. This year isn’t just about making resolutions – it’s about writing new stories that shape a legacy of faith, courage, and hope for those coming after us. A legacy that says, “I can” and “I will.”

I’ve already started my new chapter, and my prayer is that when I look back at the end of 2025, I’ll see victories won, doors opened, and my family drawn closer to the heart of God.

So today, I’m closing the door to the past, turning the knob to the future, taking a deep breath, and stepping boldly into this new chapter.

How about you?
