Breaking News: God is Still on His Throne
When I published my Saturday’s blog and this image: “Breaking News – God is still in Control OF EVERY SITUATION – No Need to Panic”, I had no idea of the horrendous events that would take place later in the day. One of my blog readers commented with this one word: “Prophetic”!
As I type this blog today, I am remembering my South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas. I was in my 10th grade geometry class. Over the PA system our principal announced: “It’s time for us to stop and pray. Our president (John F. Kennedy) has been shot”. A short while later, he came back on the speaker: “Our president is dead.”
Those could have been words spoken by the media on Saturday after the foiled attempt to kill President Trump. But God! We have been shaken as another senseless act of violence has happened.
Our prayers are with the family of the one who lost his life, those injured, and the brave individuals who put their lives on the line for President Trump and our country.
I sing this old song that reminds me WHO our anchor is in times like these:
In times like these we need a Savior;
In times like these we need an anchor.
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
This Rock is Jesus, yes, He’s the One.
This Rock is Jesus, the only One!
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
Our Heavenly Father is not caught unaware. He stands ready to respond to our needs when we humbly ask for divine intervention in the affairs of men.
Please! Let us pray for America, a nation whose pledge of allegiance recounts that we are “one nation under God,” and whose currency states that it is “in God we trust”. If anything good comes out of Saturday’s circumstances, I pray that we encounter the God Who rules over our country. “…..the LORD God Almighty is His name.” (Amos 4:13)
He is the One who gave us this promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
As we humbly and diligently seek Him, we’ll be changed, and we’ll see transformation in America through prayer. God reigns supreme and His eyes are not shut to our needs.
I pray that we come together in unity and pray for our nation, for those affected by this tragedy, and for our leaders. May God’s wisdom guide us, His strength uphold us, and His peace fill our hearts.
