Courage Isn’t Optional Anymore
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” Hebrews 10:35
In a world that’s all about blending in, those of us standing on biblical truth often feel like we’re walking around with a flashing neon sign that says, “Jesus is Lord!” And you know what? I’m okay with that. In fact, I’m proud of it.
As believers, our worldview filters everything we see — and spoiler alert: not everyone’s going to like it. Our culture may roll its eyes or even try to silence our voice, but we’ve got to remember: we are not called to be timid. We’re called to be courageous.
How? Two things can anchor us:
1. Accept God’s Word as our authority.
Opinions shift like Texas weather, but the Word of God never changes. Hebrews 6:18 says, “God has given both His promise and His oath — it is impossible for God to lie.” That’s the kind of truth I want to plant my feet on. Not trending hashtags.
2. Spend time with Jesus.
Acts 4:13 tells us that Peter and John amazed the crowds — not because they had Ivy League credentials, but because they had been with Jesus. The more time we spend with Him, the bolder we become.
I messaged several friends a couple of days ago about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who led a prayer to “our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” at the Pentagon. Bold. Brave. Beautiful. And yes — criticized. But standing for truth will always ruffle a few feathers.
So what? Jesus ruffled a lot of feathers — and He also saved our souls. So let’s “bold up” and show up for the One who showed up on Calvary.
Fear of rejection? Been there. But fear of displeasing God? That keeps me talking about Jesus with joy, with grit, and with conviction.
Don’t let the world talk you out of your confidence. You were made to stand. And friend, you are never standing alone.
So straighten that spine, lift that chin, and lock arms with the One who called you His.
This is our moment to live courageous — live bold, and live for Jesus.
