Created to Create
From mud pies to paint-by-numbers, from hanging wallpaper to decoupaging gifts — creativity has been woven into my life since childhood. Maybe you, too, have discovered the joy of making something from nothing. That’s because we were created to create!

Every Thursday night in San Jose del Cabo, the Art Walk showcases the amazing talents of artisans who display their paintings, sculptures, sand art, jewelry and so much more (some pictured here). Carl and I didn’t miss it. These artists’ hands, minds, and hearts bring beauty into the world. I admire their talent, but even if I can’t sculpt or paint like them, I know I was designed to create in my own way.
And so were you!

God, the ultimate Creator, spoke the heavens and earth into existence. He crafted every living thing with care and detail, from the tiniest flower to the vast oceans. And then, His masterpiece –us. Made in His image. That means creativity is in our DNA!
But here’s the question: What are we doing with it?
Maybe you’re an artist, a musician, an inventor, or a designer. Maybe you create order in chaos, peace in conflict, or laughter in heavy hearts. Maybe you build up others with words of encouragement, craft meals that bring families together, or share stories that inspire faith.

Whatever it is, the Holy Spirit wants to work through you. What we create — whether big or small — carries eternal value when it reflects the heart of God.
I may not be an inventor on Shark Tank, but every day I get to create something with words, inspired by the Creator Himself. And so do you! We are surrounded by people who need to know their Creator loves them.

And one of the greatest things we can create? More brothers and sisters in Christ.
Let’s be faithful with the creativity He’s placed within us. The world needs what God is creating through you! SO, Creators! Create!
