God Never Changes
On Monday, January 20th, we witnessed one president stepping out of the Oval Office and another stepping in. On the surface, President Biden and Jill were poised and gracious, but I imagine behind closed doors, there might have been a little dance of relief. After all, who wouldn’t celebrate being free from public scrutiny and those weighty responsibilities?
At the same time, we witnessed President Trump’s “entering” and “embarking” on his second presidency with expectancy and desire to help our country be a shining star that leads the way in economic growth, world peace, blessings to its citizens, and many other hopes and dreams.
Life is full of entrances and exits — beginnings and endings, goodbyes and hellos. It’s the rhythm of life. I’ve seen families mourning the loss of a loved one, only to celebrate the birth of a new baby days later. Isn’t it remarkable how life weaves threads of joy and sorrow together?
Good news is: GOD NEVER CHANGES!! That is the anchor in all our shifting tides! God is there in every transition, whether it’s a kindergartener walking into first grade, a high school graduate stepping into college, or someone leaving one job to begin another. Through it all, God remains steady, guiding us with a love that never wavers.
Change might rattle us. It often feels like life’s version of a rollercoaster we didn’t sign up for. But God isn’t wringing His hands, wondering how we’ll handle it.
Yes, change is inevitable, and it can make us feel out of control. But we’re not in it alone. The One who never changes walks beside us, holding us steady in every season of life.
If we trust Him, even the most difficult transitions can shape us into the image of Christ. That’s His promise: “All things work together for good for those who love Him.” (Romans 8:28)
So, as life ushers us through exits and entrances, let’s rest in the unchanging love of God. As Malachi 3:6 reminds us: “I am the Lord, and I do not change.”
Now that’s a promise worth holding on to!
