Got Blanks? Let God Fill Them!
Got Blanks? Let God Fill Them!
A friend, rightfully, bragged about her notoriously planned 2025 calendar. ith three kids, sports practices, music lessons, and her own juggling act as a wife, businesswoman, and mom, she knows she needs to get an upper hand on life by mapping out her family’s year.
Meanwhile, I’m here celebrating that I have all my contacts listed in my iPhone with some important dates and events already in place. That’s at least some progress, right?
But let’s be honest – sometimes surprises toss us a curveball and we must fill in a plethora of blanks at the doctor’s office. Case in point. A couple of weeks ago, I woke in the night with a significant eye issue. It felt like a rough-edge foreign object in it and as much as I tried to get it out, it wouldn’t budge. My eye was as red as a beet and the pain was extreme.
First thing, the next morning, we scheduled an emergency eye appointment. I could barely see out of that hurting eye to fill in all the blanks on those multiple pages of medical forms.
After examination and my eye being temporarily deadened (oh, hallelujah!), the issue was abrasions on my cornea which required medicinal help for the next several days.
There’s something deeper at work with other blanks of our lives and scratches on our eyes. Those blanks aren’t a mistake. They’re invitations. God, in His infinite wisdom, leaves room for His answers, His timing, and His plans.
God uses our blanks to show us He’s the WAY when we’re lost, the TRUTH when we’re confused, and the LIFE when we’re weary. He’s not a God of chaos; He’s the God of surprise plot twists, providential detours, and heartwarming “God-winks.”
So, the next time those blanks stare you down — whether it’s a crisis looming over you, a missed opportunity, or just the daily unknown — don’t panic. Instead, let God write the best story EVER for your life. Trust Him to fill the spaces with His perfect plan.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Our blanks? They’re just waiting for God’s pen that’s filled with everlasting ink that never fades and helps us to live with great hope and expectancy for each new day!
Thank You Jesus for paying the price for our healing. By Your stripes we were healed. Donna’s eye is healed in Jesus Mighty Name.
Amen
