Grads, Your Future Is So Bright…You’re Gonna Need Shades!

I’ve been soaking in all the graduation photos filling my feed — caps flying, grins beaming, and proud families everywhere. What a time of celebration! And this week, it’s our turn.

Our granddaughter Adeline will graduate from Westlake High School on Wednesday at the Moody Center. And our grandson Bryson will walk the stage at Cedar Park High on Friday at the HEB Center. These are the last two grands to leave the nest — and yes, there will be tears by this grateful Nana!

Graduation is more than a milestone — it’s a launching pad. You’ve dreamed, studied, overcome, and now you stand on the edge of what’s next. And oh, what bright futures you have! Some of you dream of traveling the world, others see white picket fences or Fortune 500 offices. And why not? Dream big!

But here’s the secret that makes every dream better: God’s dreams for you are even bigger—and better—than yours.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

We pray you become God-pursuers. That you chase after His plans first—because they’re always full of purpose, peace, and yes, even adventure.

Remember Psalm 139:14 — you were fearfully and wonderfully made. You were born for this generation, this time, this purpose. No one else can live your life. No one else is called to your exact assignment.

You are chosen. And with that choosing comes the power to live boldly, love deeply, and follow God fully. You don’t have to know every step. You just have to know the One who does.

So go ahead, graduates — grab your shades, say your goodbyes, and lean in to what’s next. We’re cheering wildly from the stands, knowing the best is yet to be.

Now go show the world what a life lived for God looks like—full of joy, courage, and yes, a whole lot of greatness.
