Is Your Life a Little…Bland?

Is Your Life a Little…Bland?

I took a bite of my yogurt, tossed in a few blueberries, crunched some granola, and followed it up with a long sip of coffee. Ah, the breakfast of champions. Except—yuck. The coffee was bland. No coconut flavor. No French vanilla joy.

Thirty minutes into breakfast, it hit me. Did I even put a pod in the Keurig? I marched back to the machine. Sure enough — no pod. Just hot water pretending to be coffee. Well, no wonder it was bland!

And isn’t that a picture of life sometimes?

We go through the motions — same routine, same prayers, same smile on Sunday — forgetting to add the one thing that makes life full of flavor — Jesus!

He said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). And friends, “abundantly” doesn’t taste like lukewarm decaf. It’s rich. Bold. Overflowing. It’s coconut-flavored joy with a shot of grace!

If your days feel dull, step up the REAL DEAL! God never intended for us to live a “que sera sera,” shrug-your-shoulders kind of faith. He wants us to taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8). That’s not just a Sunday experience — it’s an everyday invitation.

Sure, life has traffic jams, waiting rooms, and laundry piles. Even Solomon — the richest, wisest, most accomplished man in history –called it all “meaningless” without God (Ecclesiastes 2:11). But when we add the pod of His presence to the hot water of our routine? Watch out! That’s when faith gets flavorful.

So let’s stop sipping bland lives. Let’s stir in purpose. Add a scoop of kindness. Sweeten it with hope. Serve up love with a laugh on the side. This Christian life isn’t about missing out on fun — it’s about gaining fullness.

Jesus didn’t just save us from sin. He saved us for something: to live boldly, love deeply, and shine brightly.

So today, dear ones, get a life — the abundant kind. We were never meant to settle for bland!
