It’s Okay that We’re Being Chased

It’s Okay that We’re Being Chased

When someone is being chased, our minds immediately think of “no good,” peril, and fear. But what if I told you that being chased could actually be a beautiful thing?

Oh yes, God’s favor is hot on our heels! His goodness and mercy are in relentless pursuit, and they aren’t giving up anytime soon.

Isn’t that just like our Heavenly Father? He doesn’t just sit back and wait for us to figure it out. No, He actively chases us down with blessings, grace, and love. It’s not just enough that we’re followed by goodness and mercy — God wants to overwhelm us with His kindness and wrap us in His favor.

Sometimes, we’re so busy hustling through our days — heads down, hearts heavy — and we don’t realize we’re being pursued by blessings. We’re darting from task to task, trying to manage life, and completely missing the beautiful truth: God’s favor is on our trail!

Maybe it’s time to slow down and let God’s goodness catch up. I promise — it’s not like being chased by a barking dog or a swarm of bees. No, it’s more like being chased by someone who loves us and catches us with a giant, joy-filled hug.

We’ll know it when it happens — those little moments when God’s love kisses our soul. Maybe it’s a long-awaited answer to prayer, a friend who calls just when we needed encouragement, or a hug that feels like it’s straight from heaven.

God’s goodness and mercy are chasing us down. So today, let’s slow our pace just enough to get caught! David knew this feeling when he wrote: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…” (Psalm 23:6) He wasn’t just being poetic — he was telling us that God’s blessings are actively pursuing us!

Let’s stop running long enough to be embraced by God’s love today. We might just find that being chased is a “goodness and mercy” is a really, really good thing!
