Let’s Fortify Our Faith

Let’s Fortify Our Faith

In times like these, it’s no surprise that the enemy is working overtime. The chaos in our world reminds us daily that we need more than optimism — we need armor.

Paul’s words ring loud: “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:11)

That’s why faith can’t be casual. In these times we MUST be suited up in truth, prayer, and courage. We need to be shored up — determined, unwavering, convinced that knowing our Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior is the only way to stand strong.

I’ll admit. I do my best to keep my physical body fit. Most mornings you’ll find me on the elliptical, clocking three miles to worship music. But while exercise matters, I know this: spiritual fitness matters most.

Paul wrote, “Spend your time and energy in the exercise of keeping spiritually fit.” (1 Timothy 4:7)

And just like a treadmill, spiritual exercise doesn’t always feel exciting at first. But consistency pays off. Here are a few “faith workouts” that keep me strong in the Lord:

1. Study the Bible. God’s Word is our training manual. “All Scripture is inspired by God… to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

2. Read Christian books. They’re like daily vitamins for the soul. Proverbs 19:8 says, “Do yourself a favor and learn all you can.” Devotional books like Max Lucado’s Grace for the Moment or Open Windows are like daily vitamins for the soul.

3. Write your testimony. Peter said, “Always be ready to explain the hope you have.” (1 Peter 3:15) — No one else can tell your story.

4. Join a Christian Bible Study group or Life Group. Faith isn’t a solo sport. “Encourage each other and build each other up.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). We need teammates who cheer us on.

Let’s be people with more than strong muscles — we need fortified faith. In times like these, we can’t afford to be flabby in spirit.

We must be ready, willing, and able for whatever God calls us to do.
Because in the end, the greatest strength isn’t found in the gym — it’s found in Him.

“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power” (Ephesians 6:10).
