Mindset Reset
Very early Tuesday morning, I made my way home from Austin to the monthly luncheon of the Republican Women of Greater North Texas. here in Frisco. I was motivated. I regularly attend, but this one especially caused me put the “pedal to the metal”. My daughter, Staci Wallace, was the guest speaker. More than being a “praying-cheering-on” mama, I knew this girl would be providing energetic, faith-filled words of promise and hope that we all needed.
I watched these loyal, devoted and tireless women give their heart and soul to their hopes and beliefs for our country. They spent hours upon hours knocking on doors, canvassing, making phone calls, and coming together to pray and, most of all support our President. They were valiant and through their efforts and the many other loyal, faith-believing, life-believing, God-and-His-Word believing Texans, this state went “RED”. They are still strong in their beliefs for our country, yet it was obvious they are battle-worn. That’s why they needed a good dose of “mindset-reset”.
Staci gave them truths from God’s Word that our minds can and should be renewed and fixed on what IS truth and hope, and as I said in my blog yesterday, realizing “It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. And we can feel good!”
She declared “BOOM” as her main encouragement to them – to “Break Out Of Mediocrity”. That means no longer living in a same-o, same-o mindset of discouragement and worry. It means a “Mindset Reset”. We have daily choices: dwelling on the negative or amping up our thinking to God’s Word: “I will keep in perfect peace those whose mind is stayed on Me.” Isaiah 26:3. That is exchanging stinking-thinking with trusting in God Who has us in the palms of His hands.
It was a most needed “talk” for this new year. I embraced the message and took it to my own heart. I don’t want to live in the “status quo” of worry, concern, and anxiety. I want to live in an abundance and blessing mindset. Daily, I want a mindset reset.
I know I was a beaming, proud mama as I saw my girl lift the hearts and spirits of these beautiful women – especially as I turned and saw the line of women waiting for Staci to sign their copy of her new book, “Fueled by Fire”. It reminded me of the “good old days” when I was her travel companion and we toured the country sharing God’s good news to audiences of all ages. I was her “roadie” and product sales girl. What was being stored up in her in those days….has come to fruition. I’m seeing the maturity of her walking out a life of faith. Others see it, too, and are gleaning from it. I’m so thankful!
Starting each new day with a mindset – reset. “THIS IS THE DAY – that the Lord has made! I WILL REJOICE and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24) It is turning off those things that break us down, discourage us and cause us pain and discomfort.
Perhaps you’d like to break out of the mediocrity of the same-o, same-o and have a mindset reset today. It’s your choice to do it and it’s God’s will and good pleasure to give you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him. (Psalm 37:4)
