My Girl

My Girl

She is an anomaly. Anomaly means something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected. She isn’t any of those nouns or adverbs! Whatever conundrum she faces – she figures out a way to jump over it or crawl under it, go through it or embrace it.

God broke the mold when He made her. She is a holy mix of sugar and spice and everything nice, as well as snips and snails and puppy dog tails. She is a 5-octave brilliant recording artist, a lover of all people, a speaker, teacher, trainer, author, caregiver and she is also a fisher-woman, a basketball player, a tractor driver, a gardener, painter and architect.

You can take her out of the country and to the city, but she’ll find a way to get back to HER country. She is the Green Acres gal – where farm living is the place to be, but’s she’s also “Manhattan” and can dress to the nines while putting on a show backed up by 14-piece orchestra.

My girl. My girl. I’m talking about my girl. Today is her birthday. What can I say about her that hasn’t already been said except that no matter where she is, who she is with, and what she is doing – the common theme of her discussions is Jesus.

She always looks to Jesus and points to Jesus. I remember when someone got perturbed when she started giving Jesus to the window cashier at McDonald’s. I remember the day that she called back life into a man who had just died. He still lives today.

I remember her bringing her car to a screeching halt, then jump out and run to a woman who had been hit by a car. She pushed everyone aside so she could rush in and pray for her, ask her to pray the “sinner’s prayer” — just in case she didn’t make it. The woman survived and lived to talk about it.

She is the first one to raise her hand and say “I can”! She is the first one to go to the phone and call someone to free them from despair and bring them deliverance in Jesus’ name.

She is the one in the Cinderella dress who speaks to young women and teach them their Prince of Peace is waiting for them. She is also the gal in the bib overalls cleaning out chicken poop, working in her garden, building a deck, painting furniture, and driving a turn-around lawn mower aka tractor to get their acres mowed.

Of all that is in her heart and soul to better the lives of others, her greatest claim to fame are the people who have come to know Jesus in a radical way. A way that has caused the homeless, the disenfranchised, the forgotten, the successful, yet lost businessman and woman to find their co-Partner is Jesus in everything in their lives.

My girl never quits till a hopeless or helpless individual, couple and family is walking and living in the divine calling and living the abundant life Christ came to give them.

For all she has done for others, she has been by this mama’s side time and time again – when times were tough, when hope was gone, when pain seemed unbearable.

We’re headed to East Texas today to celebrate this beautiful, amazing, mighty woman of God, AKA my incredible daughter. I thank God He chose ME to be her mama.

Staci Michelle Wallace! Staci (resurrection life); Michelle (like God). I love you so much! Carry on, good and faithful servant!
