No Surprise to God

Did you know that you – yes, YOU – and your circumstances are no surprise to God? It took me a while to wrap my head around that one, but once it clicked, it changed everything. Now, it’s how I roll.

Life has a way of throwing curveballs, doesn’t it? A pain in a place you never had a pain before, a flat tire on the way to an important appointment, or the faucet springing a leak right after you just paid the last plumber’s bill. Oh, and let’s not forget those unexpected bills.

These “surprises” can sure throw a wrench in our plans, but guess what? They don’t catch God off guard. Not for one second. What we call a jolt to our plans is just another opportunity for God to show off His sovereignty.

Here’s the best part – God’s already on it. Whatever comes our way, He saw it coming long before it showed up on our radar. And not only that – He’s got a plan to turn it for our good. What a relief! It’s like knowing the end of a story before the plot twist even happens.

I’ve stopped wasting time trying to “one-up” God because I know it’s impossible. While I might feel caught off guard, He never is. And isn’t that just the kind of peace we need?

“We know that God causes EVERYTHING to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28)

And here’s another nugget to tuck in your heart: “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” (Psalm 37:23)

So, whatever surprise comes your way today, just remember – God’s got it covered. Lean into that truth and let go of the stress. After all, He knows exactly how it’s going to turn out – and it’s going to be good!
