Recognizing God’s Nudges

Recognizing God’s Nudges

As you may have read, or not, my daughter and son-in-love purchased property in Rusk, Texas for building a place to rescue, redeem and restore women and girls who have suffered through some of life’s most difficult challenges. This property will have tiny homes and a retreat/restoration center built there.

Larry and Staci’s organization/ministry is EMwomen (Empowering Women) which is a faith-based 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that uses a simple E4 Model (embrace, educate, equip, empower) that provides proven life-transformational programs, retreats, skills training classes, transitional living, counseling, leadership summits, and spiritual enrichment classes that provides deep and lasting freedom. The re-entry program equips women with the life-skills needed to be mobilized in the marketplace as bold and confident women of faith and leaders worth following.

I gave you that info to ask you to pray that God continues to provide, guide and direct them in this incredible endeavor. They are on my mind constantly, so my eyes stay open to ways to support them. THEN, what seems out-of-the-blue, God shows up. I see Him. I feel His nudge. A few weeks ago, I see a gorgeous home’s interior being completely dismantled to upgrade it and re-style it. Everything must go – kitchen and bathroom cabinets, granite countertops, light fixtures, mirrors, doors, kitchen appliances, sinks, bathtubs, electronics, curtains, rods, etc. I ask the owners what they are going to do with all of this and they tell me “everything must go”. I mention my children’s organization and ask if they can have it. Without hesitation they tell me to have them come and get it before it is all thrown away. So yesterday, with a team of helpers, movers, and heavy-lifters, AND me – wiping down everything before it goes on the truck, it was all sent to Rusk, TX. All because of a divine appointment, a divine set-up. A nudge.

Maybe you’ve been feeling some nudges, hearing some still small voices, having some “aha” moments, too! I’d like to suggest that God is trying to get through to you, too! If you are tight in your relationship with God, if you go to Him in prayer and study His Word, and if you embrace His love and care for you, then, I assure you — you KNOW Him. And it is Him giving you those nudges.

I talk a lot about “being on assignment”. It’s not complicated – especially when we realize He who knows everything about everything lives big in us. We don’t have to jump through hoops or any other actions to merit His favor or love. He is our Father so of course we should recognize His nudges and still small voice and the “knowing” that He is leading and guiding us. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)

God has so much wonder and awesome experiences awaiting us. God has always had a people that He used to accomplish His plans and purposes. Why don’t we get on His bandwagon and let Him use us to be difference makers? We could take the easy and safe route by living a mundane and unproductive life, or we can follow God’s impulses that lead to an “above and beyond” life. Let’s tune into the nudges that God is giving us — those nudges to live, pursue, hunt, give, climb, dig, jump, walk, run, research, and focus on the assignment — the nudges — and the “aha” moments will surely follow close behind!
