WANTED. CHOSEN. LOVED. ADOPTED.

August 9, 2025 Off By Donna Wuerch Noble

There’s a little boy in our family whose back tells a beautiful story. His shirt says it all:
WANTED. CHOSEN. LOVED. ADOPTED.

And that’s exactly what happened.

After years of waiting, praying, navigating challenges and red tape, my determined niece — an incredibly successful district attorney — never gave up. She could have looked the other way.

Life is full, demanding, and messy. But love doesn’t walk away. It leans in. She leaned all the way in.

And now, this sweet boy, with his neatly braided hair and quiet strength, is home. Fully, legally, and lovingly home. He has a mama who adores him. A whole crew of aunties, uncles, and grandparents who have loved him long before the ink dried.

He’s been taught about Jesus, surrounded by security, blanketed by grace, and fiercely protected in arms that will never let go.

But the beauty of this story doesn’t stop with him.
It reaches into every heart reading this.
Because his story is our story.

There was a time when we, too, were wandering. Unclaimed. Wounded. Trying to find our way. Maybe we felt discarded, invisible, ashamed, or uncertain of where we belonged.

BUT GOD.

God WANTED us. Not because we were perfect or polished — but because He is love.

He CHOSE us. Not as an afterthought, but on purpose and with great joy.

He LOVED us. Even while we were still broken.

And He ADOPTED us. Gave us His name. His inheritance. His Spirit. His forever family.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
—1 John 3:1

We are no longer orphans in this world. We are home.
So today, pause and praise Him.

You are WANTED. CHOSEN. LOVED. ADOPTED.
And that says it all.
