We are the Champions
Two years ago, I purchased an Oura ring. It’s a good fitness tracker, counts my daily steps, shows me my sleep patterns, how well I sleep, or NOT, and helps me maintain a good heart rate.
A couple of days ago my husband asked, “How was your sleep last night?” I quickly pulled out my phone that has the Oura app on it to check how I did.
This picture here shows you that I am now a SLEEP CHAMPION! Yahoo! That’s hilarious when you also see that I managed a whole 6 hours and 21 minutes sleep. I received a big score of 87-Optimal! We laughed at such a win!
Six hours; 21 minutes, really is optimal for me as four or five hours is my usual sleep pattern. But I really am striving to be a sleep champion – and even more so, a God-and-people-loving, faith-filled champion. That’s what matters most!
I love singing to that song,
“We are the Champions, my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions of the world”
I’d like to think we are all those champions who never give up or give in because we know “It’s not over till we win!” And win, we will! That is if we are on the side of God and His Word that says: “We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus!” (Romans 8:31-39)
If we are like most, our life hasn’t always felt victorious. We’ve likely had weeks, months, or even years of dreams crushed, and hope deferred. After a while, we move into survival mode, and visions of thriving and living victoriously is simply a distant daydream.
We begin to question, “Is it possible that God can work all this out for my good and His purposes?” The answer is yes! All things are possible through Jesus, our Conqueror over death, hell and the grave.
Though all things are possible through Him, the fact remains that we still have an adversary who “walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
Being more than a conqueror in Christ means that we have the power to resist the enemy and stand firm in faith. Being more than a conqueror in any battle means we achieve overwhelming victory.
The enemy might put up a fight, but he is no match for Christ in us. It is not our own ability that gives us the power to be more than a conqueror in Christ. It is Christ in us.
His power is made perfect in our weaknesses. So, let’s keep up the good fight of faith because we know that the victory has been won. Jesus won forgiveness for us. He won eternal life in heaven for us. He won peace, joy, and hope for us.
And, best of all, we have the victory over sin, death, and the devil through our risen Lord and Savior. May we hold onto Christ, our Champion and risen Lord, with all our might!
In Him, we, too, are champions! Remember, we are more than conquerors through Him who first loved us! That’s what I call being “Champions of the world and beyond!”
