We Have Everything We Need
Max Lucado (my favorite author) hit the nail on the head when he said, “You have a God who hears you, the power of love behind you, the Holy Spirit within you, and all of heaven ahead of you…” Now, if that doesn’t make us want to shout a hallelujah, I don’t know what will!
Life can feel like a scavenger hunt for answers — searching for direction, peace, wisdom, and strength. But the truth is, with God as our Shepherd, the hunt is over. We already have everything we need. Let me say that louder for the folks in the back: EVERYTHING!
When we’re staring at a fork in the road and feeling stuck, God gives us direction for every turn. Proverbs 3:6 reminds us, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” That means we don’t have to figure it all out alone. We have a divine GPS who never recalculates incorrectly.
When life gets stormy, and the winds threaten to knock us overboard, we have an anchor for every storm. God’s peace isn’t dependent on calm seas! It’s about trusting Him in the chaos. Philippians 4:7 says His peace surpasses all understanding, which in my words: “It’s so good, we can’t even explain it!”
Feeling overwhelmed by shadows and uncertainty? We have a candle for every corner. His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). No darkness is too thick for His light to break through.
And when guilt or shame tries to weigh us down, let’s remember, God gives us His grace for every sin. God’s mercy doesn’t run out. Lamentations 3:23 reminds us His mercies are new every morning — so let’s grab a fresh batch today!
We may not have all the answers, but we have the One Who is the answer. God’s love, the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and the promise of heaven equips us for whatever comes our way.
So, the next time we’re scrambling for answers — let’s take a deep breath, lean into our divine unscrambler, our Shepherd, and remind ourselves: We have everything we need. So, with assurance that God has us, let’s do our part — putting on a happy face, singing a happy tune and stepping forward with zeal, determination, peace, confidence, and a heart full of gratitude.
