What We All Have in Common is We NEED LOVE

Years ago, my husband was Vice-President of a Bible College and we were the “chosen ones” to lead a missions trip to Mexico which consisted of college students, us, and our two young children….in a school bus. It made for a very long journey, the bus had mechanical issues along the way, the seats were uncomfortable, and we were a weary group…..but that didn’t squelch our zeal and determination for what was before us. We were excited that we were on our way to make a difference in some precious people’s lives. We were coming with our American-style of worship, praise and ministry to help those dear people.

And, it’s exactly the same today. The message is loud and clear that we are all people who love and need to be loved. Here we are — leaders in our personal lives, ministry and business, endeavoring to make a difference in our world. Back “when” my kids played with the little kids in Mexico — language was no barrier. I’ve watched Payton and Alexia hug the kids, play soccer with the kids, play tennis with the kids — again, language is no barrier. What is it we have in common? Love knows no bounds. These children have such love for us — even bringing us gifts of sacks they’ve drawn on for us, notes and cards and one little girl even presented the women with jewelry. Again, it’s not that we’re here to bless them — near as much as what we are being blessed by these beautiful people — who have so little in this earth’s goods — be BIG, BIG, BIG on what matters most.
