Write the Vision and Make It Plain
When my daughter was single, she wrote out a list — a BIG list — of everything she hoped for in a future husband. Not five, not ten, but 100 qualities she was praying for. Talk about being specific!
Then came Larry. At first glance, he checked off 95 out of 100. But as time went on, love deepened, and before she knew it, every last item on that list was fulfilled. I thank God every day for my amazing bonus son — a man who exceeded even her greatest expectations and prayers — and mine, too! š
So, what about you?
I often find myself in rooms full of people who long for more — more friendships, a better job, a healthier body, a deeper sense of purpose, or even the right person to share life with. Desires arenāt the problem. Direction is. And thankfully, the Bible gives us one:
āWrite the vision and make it plain, so that HE who reads it may run with it.ā (Habakkuk 2:2) And, who is HE? Our angels!
Thatās not just pretty poetry — itās a strategy. When we write down our vision, making it clear and precise, we arenāt just organizing our thoughts — weāre stepping into alignment. Angels are on assignment (Hebrews 1:14) to bring about Godās best, but we must be positioned correctly to receive it.
So, how do we get into position?
Proverbs 3:5-6 lays it out in three steps:
1ļøā£ Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
2ļøā£ Donāt lean on your own understanding.
3ļøā£ Acknowledge Him in all your ways.
When we do this, He directs our paths — not just our wish list.
Writing a vision without surrendering to Godās wisdom is like handing Him a to-do list and expecting same-day delivery. But when we write our vision with Godās counsel, timing, and purpose in mind, weāre not just hoping — weāre partnering with the One who holds the future.
So go ahead — make that list. Then hand God the pen and watch His best-laid plans unfold. Your angels are on stand-by just waiting to carry out your hopes and desires.
