Perspective – Old or New

Perspective – Old or New

Ah, Quebec City! A picturesque playground where history comes alive, and every cobblestone street whispers tales of bygone eras. As our ship gracefully navigated the St. Lawrence River to this jewel of French North America, we couldn’t help but marvel at the breathtaking beauty of God’s creation unfolding before us.

Today, we eagerly anticipate our adventure into the heart of Quebec City, ready to immerse ourselves in 400 years of rich history and cultural heritage. With comfortable shoes and a sense of wonder, we’re ready to explore the architectural wonders and time-honored treasures that await us.

I recently shared our travel plans with a friend who, having experienced the charm of Quebec City firsthand, couldn’t help but gush about its allure. It seems we’re not alone in our anticipation of being swept away by the city’s beauty and ambiance.

Now, some might accuse me of living on the “Good Ship Lollipop,” and truth be told, there are moments when I do tend to view life through rose-colored glasses. But hey, why not? Life is too short to dwell on the negative when there’s so much beauty and joy to be found all around us.

I’ve discovered that cultivating a sweet and positive outlook not only brings me peace but also allows me to be a beacon of light in a world that can sometimes feel dark and dreary. My heart is open to spreading the love of Jesus and being a source of encouragement to those we encounter along the way.

And when faced with situations or conversations that veer into negativity or profanity, I choose to take the high road and walk away. Like a ship navigating stormy seas, I refuse to let my heart become hardened or desensitized to what is true, noble, and lovely.

In fact, the apostle Paul’s words in Philippians 4:8 serve as my compass, guiding me to focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. It’s a mindset that keeps me anchored in peace, even amidst life’s turbulent waters.

So, as we set sail on this whimsical voyage aboard “The Good Ship Lollipop,” I invite you to join us in embracing a perspective that sees beauty in every moment and the sweetness in every experience. Together, let’s journey with hearts full of gratitude and minds set on the One who holds our past, present, and future in His loving hands.

All aboard, dear friends! The adventure awaits, and with it, the promise of dreams sweeter than sugar plums and delights more savory than cinnamon treats. Perspective is everything, and ours is firmly fixed on the One who brings joy to every journey.
